Privacy policy

This policy describes Kanji Universe’s iOS beta and this website, operated by Abudalu Ventures, LLC.

No game account required

You can play without providing a name, email address, or password to Kanji Universe. The app has no advertising SDK, cross-app tracking, or developer-operated analytics service.

Progress stays on your device

The app stores character encounters, saved puzzle layouts, attempts, completions, hint usage, recipe discoveries, recall attempts, dates of play, and preferences locally on your device. We do not upload this gameplay history to our servers. This version does not provide cloud synchronization.

Apple purchases and services

Optional packs use Apple’s StoreKit payment system. Apple handles payment information. The app checks Apple-signed transactions to determine which packs you own; we do not receive your card details. Apple processes information under Apple’s privacy policy.

Pronunciation playback uses the device’s Apple speech service. The app passes the Japanese learning text to that service, not personal messages or account information.

TestFlight and feedback

Apple may collect and share beta diagnostics and feedback under its TestFlight terms. If you choose Send Beta Feedback in TestFlight, the information and attachments you submit are shared with the developer through Apple. Do not include sensitive personal information in screenshots.

The app also offers optional sharing of a solved-scene image or a playtest report. Reports can contain the app version, scene IDs, board placements and turns, attempts, completions and settings. You choose the destination in the device’s share sheet. The app does not transmit these reports automatically.

This website

This site does not request an account, provide advertising, or embed analytics. Our hosting providers may process ordinary connection information, such as IP addresses and request logs, to deliver and secure the website. External links take you to services with their own policies.

Your controls

Use the grove reset in Settings to delete the new puzzle history. The original café, available in the Test Lab, has a separate local reset. Removing the app also removes its local data. Deleting progress does not cancel or erase Apple purchases; Apple manages those records and refund requests.

Children

The app does not ask players for personal information. Apple account, purchase, and parental approval settings continue to apply.

During the private beta, send privacy questions through Send Beta Feedback on the app’s TestFlight page. See our support page for instructions. This policy will be updated if the app’s data practices change.
