A little help for your adventure

Help & support

Kanji Universe is an early iPhone game from Abudalu Ventures, LLC. The latest beta opens with Wake the Grove: creature puzzles about water, steam and light.

Installing or updating the beta

Install Apple’s TestFlight app, open your invitation, and tap Install next to Kanji Universe. If you already have the game, tap Update in TestFlight. Keep the app installed to preserve your local progress. This beta is invitation-only; the website does not grant access.

Something went wrong?

In a puzzle, tap Pause → Share a bug report. Add what you expected and what happened. The report includes the scene ID, placements, turns and result so we can reproduce it. Choose where to save or send it; nothing is sent automatically.

You can also use Send Beta Feedback on the app’s TestFlight page and attach a screenshot. For broader feedback, Settings → Share playtest details includes your scene progress.

Your first puzzle

Tap Let’s play. Choose the Water creature, then its pond stage. Turn the marked bends and press Go. Watch the stream; the place where it stops is your clue. You can undo, restart or open a hint at any time.

Do I need an account?

No. Your board layouts, discoveries, settings and progress are saved on your device. An Apple Account is used by TestFlight and optional Apple purchases, not as a game sign-in.

Explore everything free in TestFlight

On Islands, tap Explore free in TestFlight, or turn on Free access to all shipped scenes in Settings. No code is needed. This unlocks the current preview scenes, not the full worlds on the roadmap.

Buying and restoring packs

Optional packs use Apple’s purchase sheet. In this beta, the Apple purchase controls sit under Apple purchase testing on Islands. TestFlight purchases are sandbox test transactions and do not charge real money. Turn free preview access off when testing purchases.

Night Market’s existing purchase also covers its new Moonlight Parade preview; Glass Garden retains its existing purchase. Use Restore Apple purchases with the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Packs are non-consumable purchases, not subscriptions. Apple displays the current price and confirmation. Preview access alone does not verify a purchase.

What does “met” mean?

A friend has been encountered in a completed puzzle. That is separate from remembering its kanji independently. Each creature shows a selected Japanese reading, hiragana, romaji and meaning; readings can change in other words. Fire turning water into steam is a game interaction, not a rule for constructing written kanji.

Where did the café go?

Your original café and saved vocabulary history remain in Settings → Test Lab → Original café and saved vault. The grove uses a separate save. Resetting the grove does not erase your original café history.

Saving and deleting progress

Progress is local and does not sync between devices. The grove reset in Settings erases the new scene history. The original café has its own reset. Removing the app can erase both local saves. Apple purchases can be restored independently.

Refunds

Apple handles payments and refund requests. Visit Apple’s Report a Problem using the account associated with a purchase.
